Ok, No Ecto, Hail Windows Livewriter

After doing some research on the possible tools and image issues among (what seems to be) all Mac Blog writing software, I have decided to go to WLW.  This is going to allow me to automatically put well formed images on my blog.  It doesn’t really matter who you are, if you can’t support FTP Image uploads with decent formatting out of the box, then maybe you should reconsider selling your product.  That is one of the annoyances I have noticed with Mac.  Developers get a rich feature set of free tools, however, you have to pay for...

Some Coworkers Remember EVERYTHING

So I had a co-worker contact me and wonder if I had marked down a website that I hadn't seen for almost 3 years (I think).  It was the location of a speed typing test.  What was so interesting about this speed typing test?  Well as soon as they had re-found it, I began wondering how many words a minute could I type now.  Here it is, and if you would like to try your own at the typing test, click it. 42 wordsSpeedtest

Oh My! I Have Fallen In Love, Again!

Edit:  Our puppies new name is Corduroy (Thanks to Jessie for the suggestion).  He is officially named after the Teddy Bear in the hit kids book, Corduroy. Before I get too far into this post, this is just a short and sweet (Oh, look what I have, nah nah nah boo boo) blog post.  We still haven't figured out a good name, so please try to help us name this one if you don't mind.  So this breed is a so called "Teddy Bear",  he should grow to 8-12 pounds, and he is the most adorable puppy I have seen in...

Michael Phelps, Barry Bonds, Mark McGuire, Etc.

I was listening to Michael Phelps today, and wow does he do a good job of settling the media.  He did something wrong, he knows it, and he confesses in no time with a statement to the press.  No wonder this guy didn't lose all of his endorsements, and how humane the response has been to his unfortunate maturity level as far as social fun goes.  This has caused him quite the ordeal.  So what can we get from this? Let me mention that first of all, you should never put illegal substances into your body, furthermore, you should...

January's Blog

Wow, if there is one thing I can note about my new year, it is that the new year will most definitely be one of my busiest.  While I haven't had time to post as much as I would like to, I would like to share a few things.  First, I would like to mention http://hurl.me which is a little side project of mine.  I have put in minor functionality, though I am still looking for more things to do with it.  Currently, http://hurl.me shortens URLs and since I own http://hurlme.com and http://hurl.me I believe that this is a great...

Tips When Flying

Flying can be a very convenient way to travel long distances over short periods of time.  For instance, if you want to go from Seattle to St. Louis, there are a ton of options.  I have a lot of family in Richmond VA and amazingly there is a direct flight from Virginia to St. Louis respectively (RIC) to (STL) and back.  Recently, there was a family member that (while attempting to pinch pennies) grabbed a flight that was indirect to save 20 dollars (per round trip) for two flights.  So basically, $20 per trip * 2 trips, which is $40. ...

To All, a Merry Christmas

I wanted to take a minute and mention to anyone that reads my Blog a wonderfully Merry Christmas.  Soon, Santa will be coming by and filling many kids trees with Christmas presents (if he hasn't already) around the globe.  While things may get tense tomorrow (maybe you didn't get what you want, or he got more than she did, or whatever), it is important to remember the significance of what tomorrow really is.  It is a time to celebrate with your families (so close your browser now), celebrate life as we know it here on Earth, afforded to us by...

This Was a Journey

In this, my first real personal blog, I will say that I am extremely impressed with what I have been able to do with ASP.NET, Subtext and a few other technologies here and there.  One of the biggest accomplishments here is how easy it is to post blogs and how well the performance of the website has done to this moment.  Thanks for paving this road you guys over at Subtext.  You may notice that there are already 8 blogs turned on (several of them were) posted from a previous weblog but ported using Live Writer (and how...

Facebook, Twitter & LinkedIn Updated

I recently updated the information contained in these "sites".  It is semi-annoying to have to go into each and everyone of them to update everything every time anything changes.  Are there any aggregator services out there that can keep all of my information in Sync I wonder.  Anyway's, here are the links to my profiles.   Jeff Ancel's LinkedIn Jeff Ancel's Twitter
